What I See at Night

Last night was a light,

a lie that was nigh
His birth is the spurt
of peace that gave birth
And now we ensure;
the lights reassure
of His birth
Yet last night was a light
I had yet to decide
Where houses were like
the moon at night
Your light made my
heart feel imbecile
It throbbed like a pile
of hearts in one can
Do you feel it?
Yet like your heart
Mine is a lot
The tremors I got,
how much have I lost?
And that's when I thought,
I hadn't much to lose
Since there's nothing that'll lose
When you have nothing to lose
On the birth of our Lord,
a tear might accord
Like a valentine that was none
There is no one benign
To be alone
or left alone,
a solo act to perform
If God is too kind,
will he hold you and console?
